Creamy Cajun & Shrimp spaghetti

Creamy Cajun & Shrimp Spaghetti

Creamy Cajun & Shrimp spaghetti

You can try this with a variety of meat including chicken, fish, seafood of your choice. It’ll taste equally good without it too.

The whole flavor comes from my ‘Homemade Cajun Seasoning’, which you can find by clicking on this video on my IG handle, OR through this readable post on my blog. The seasoning is not only good for this recipe, but helps elevate the flavor of almost everything you add it to. French fries, fajitas, marinades, anything will start smelling divine and flavorful the moment this seasoning enters the ingredient list.

I just love it when I am able to crack restaurant level flavors for homemade meals, and this is one of those recipes which even smells better than it tastes.

Cajun & Shrimp Spaghetti
  • Spaghetti 1.5 packet
  • Jumbo Shrimps 700g
  • Homemade Cajun Seasoning 1.5 tbsp for marination, 1 tbsp to be added later to sauce, OR to taste
  • Olive oil 2 tbsps
  • Cooking Cream 1.5 cup
  • White onion 1 medium-sized, diced
  • Garlic, fried or fresh, 1 tbsp, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Dried Parsley for sprinkling
  1. Marinate shrimps with ‘Homemade Cajun Seasoning’
  2. Cook spaghetti al dente & save some pasta water for later use. 1/2 a cup would be great
  3. Drizzle olive oil in a pan
  4. Add marinated shrimps to the pan and let them cook for 2 minutes on each side (dont overcook, they will get tough and chewy). Take them out on a plate
  5. Add unsalted butter to the same pan.
  6. Once it melts, add fresh/fried garlic along with diced onion. Let the onion sweat until its slightly soft. Don’t let it change color
  7. Pour in cooking cream and mix it well. Let it reduce a little till it starts getting a saucy texture
  8. Season with some more salt & cajun seasoning according to your taste. I added 1/2 tsp of salt and 1 tbsp of the seasoning
  9. Dump cooked shrimps back in after mixing the seasoning well and then mix some more
  10. Time to add boiled spaghetti along with pasta water. Mix it all really well till the spaghetti is fully coated. Let it cook for a couple of minutes so the pasta can absorb the creamy sauce fully
  11. Turn the heat off and sprinkle some dried parsley
  12. Serve fresh & enjoy!
